With adventure just around every corner, it makes sense to look into tips that pertain to your lifestyle.

9 Tips for the adventure-seeking mobile home owner

From mail maintenance to pet care, these nine tips will keep your life at home running smoothly while you chase the adventures that abound. And there’s no need to live the nomad life while pursuing adventure. You can have a place you call home always waiting for you while you chase those dreams.

1 – Put a hold on your mail

If you’re going to be away from home for a long period of time, you can have the postal service place a hold on your mail. The postal service can stow your mail in a safe place until you return. This is good news if you’re concerned about someone else stealing your mail while you’re away. And if you don’t have someone you can entrust with the responsibility of gathering your mail, this is a perfect alternative.

2 – Place your sprinkler system on a timer

For those of you who live in a warm climate, you don’t want your plants and lawn to take a hit while you travel. So place your sprinkler system on a timer. This will ensure your lawn is taken care of while you enjoy your care-free adventure.

3 – Install a smart thermostat

Don’t let traveling keep you from taking charge of your home while away. As you travel about on swashbuckling adventures, you can control your home’s temperatures via a smart thermostat.

This is great news for the mobile home owner, especially if pets are in the picture. It’s also handy if you’re traveling during the changing of seasons. There’s no need to worry. You can adjust the thermostat accordingly on your smart phone.

4 – Create a manual for your home sitter

Are you the type of person who enlists the assistance of a house sitter? Consider pulling together a family home manual for how you run the house. (Plus, this could actually come in handy when you’re not on adventures, too. Even your spouse may appreciate the easily accessible data on pets, children, and the odds and ends of running the home!)

By creating a manual on Google drive, you can decide what information to share and what to withhold from your house sitter. Create a table of contents in Google Sheets and link each section to the appropriate Google document that delineates your pet’s care, house upkeep list, etc.

This will give you access to everything in one place, making it easy to send pertinent data to the housesitter.

5 – Keep a jar around for spare change

You’d be surprised how much change can accumulate throughout the year. Leave a jar on the kitchen counter or your bedroom dresser and watch it fill up as you empty your pockets each day. You can toss it in a coin machine later to convert it into dollars or gift cards. This is great spending money for your next adventure.

6 – Put up a vision board with your travel goals

Additionally, make your mobile home’s wall space into a reminder of your money-raising goals for the next big adventure. Put up a vision board that highlights the place(s) you want to go and what you intend to do when you get there. The constant reminder will spur you on to continue saving, turning your dream into a reality.

7 – Showcase your adventures

On the walls of your mobile home, you can showcase some of your adventures. Each time you go out on an adventure, look for a decor piece that can add to your home’s aesthetic. It will conjure up fond memories and possibly become a conversation starter with guests.

8 – Choose easy-to-care-for plants
