Mobile homes are often sought out for their small size (but that doesn’t mean large mobile homes do not exist!) Depending on the floor plan, it is possible to find the small bathroom dilemma in a double wide or triple wide mobile home. The smaller mobile homes, especially, carry bathrooms that are tight on space.

How to make a small bathroom feel bigger and look amazing

Taking the extra pains to give your bathroom a more spacious feel is rewarding. When it’s all said and done, you’ll be glad you took the time to apply some of these tips. Your tiny bathroom will look bigger and better than ever before.

Trade out your sink cabinet

So we get it. In a tiny space, it’s nice to have extra storage space. But a sink cabinet carries a big footprint. How about setting up a shelf with decorative storage options? Keep your stash of medicine cabinet supplies in the hall closet for those items you do not frequently use.

Replace that sink cabinet with a pedestal sink or floating sink. Either option will make your bathroom feel bigger. And we’re all about going for that illusion today!

On a budget? Frequent community web sites and places that sell used items. You may be surprised to find just what you’re looking for at a bargain!

Light colors

In most cases, your best bet is to paint light or neutral colors on your bathroom walls. Go for some neutral tones and similar values to make your bathroom feel open and airy. The bright side of having a small bathroom? You don’t have to blow through a huge supply of paint to get the job done!

But feel free to bring some dark colors in to accent the wall space and room.

Bigger is better when it comes to a mirror

You can make your bathroom look more spacious with the integration of a large mirror. If you can pull it off, we recommend going for it. Mirrors are also a great way to reflect your style.

Ditch the shower curtain

Go for a glass door or sliding panel in place of a shower curtain. A shower curtain gives off the impression of a wall, breaking up the room’s continuity. Replace it with a glass door or glass sliding panel and your mind sees it as a continuation of the room.

Darkness is not your friend

Light up that room. A well-lit bathroom looks more spacious than a poorly or dimly lit bathroom. In this case, you may wish to ditch the romantic, dimly-lit vibe. Install extra lighting if necessary.

Take the tile up high

If you’re remodeling your bathroom and using tile for the shower, we suggest taking the tile up. Keep the tile going up until it meets the ceiling. This will make it feel roomier.

Cut the clutter

Clutter serves as a visual obstruction. Cut it out, keep it out of sight. As it is, space is already hard to come by in a small bathroom! Why obstruct your line of sight with clutter?

Various cosmetics

Get rid of the clutter and you’ll reap numerous benefits. Less stress, a cleaner bathroom, and a roomier bathroom.

Add crown moulding

Make your ceiling seem taller than it really is by installing crown moulding where your walls meet the ceiling. Paint it the same color as your ceiling.

Alternatively, you may consider painting faux sky onto your ceiling. Then one could say the sky’s the limit in your bathroom.

Small does not have to feel cramped

Good things can come in small packages. Even your seemingly tiny bathroom. You’ll be amazed by the difference that implementing our tips will make.

But don’t forget to be patient while you’re at it. Renovations or remodels can feel overwhelming. If you’re not in a position to swing all these ideas, that’s OK. Funnel some income into a savings account. Before you know it, you’ll have what you need to take on more of these tips. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

More amazing spaces

It’s not just the inside that counts toward making your home look amazing. Give yourself an interior and exterior that you can be proud of.
