Have you ever tried decorating your mobile home on a strict budget? We decided to challenge ourselves to do just that. With just $99, we’ve created a list of amazing decor products that are trending this fall.
The challenge
Our challenge to you is to limit your fall decor budget to $99, too. It takes a little creativity, for sure, but it’s totally do-able. You can either follow our list exactly or use it as inspiration for your own. We’ve tried to keep these decor items within the realm of what’s trending in 2020, but maybe you have a completely different style than we do. Customize it to your preferences.
We’ve also limited this list to the very basic must-haves. You won’t find any knickknacks on this list, so we suggest that next year you invest in some cute extras. After you nail down the basics, there is so much room for creativity. We encourage you to add on to this list in the coming years to round out your fall decor collection.
But enough about budgets and styles. Let’s do this thing!
#1 Modern fall wreath
A wreath is one of those “must-haves.” We’re loving this modern take on a Fall wreath from Etsy for $27. The minimalist hoop wreath trend is really hot right now, especially for this fall. This style of wreath has a distinctly boho vibe, but it’ll fit right in with practically any other trending decor for an eclectic look.
These wreaths are a cinch to DIY, but we understand if you don’t have time for projects like that. However, in case you do, find out how to make one here.
#2 Faux pumpkins for your centerpiece
These beautiful white pumpkins from Amazon are $17. A great way to transition a summer centerpiece into fall is to add neutral-colored pumpkins. Don’t worry about changing out your summer greenery! White and green fall decor is trending right now, so just add these to your centerpiece and you’re all set. Easy as pie.
#3 Cozy blankets
What is fall without cozy blankets? They also make great additions to your decor. These cotton throw blankets from Kohl’s are just the ticket. The orange and white cotton look of these blankets not only adds warmth to your home, but it also offers a little bit of a farmhouse look as well.
#4 Candles
Save some money and buy these $4 tealight candles from Target. Think of it as having the scent and appearance of larger candles without the price tag! On the other hand, if you’ve found a way to save money on the items above (maybe you DIY-ed that wreath!), you may be under budget and looking to purchase candles that will last. These unique beeswax candles from Etsy might suit your fancy.
#5 Pillow covers
These pillow covers are $15 on Amazon. They come in many color options, but we love the burnt orange for fall.
#6 Strings of lights
Adding cozy lighting to your home is key during the cold months. Not only does light fend off the holiday blues, but it creates a nostalgic atmosphere. And one of the best ways to create atmosphere is by hanging strings of lights. You can find fairy lights at your favorite department store for around five dollars. Or, get these globe lights at Target for $10.
#7 Real pumpkins (because, why not?)
We’re down to our last $5. So we’re going to encourage you to get out of the house with your family or friends and visit a pumpkin patch. Remember, picking your own pumpkins means saving a lot of money. When you get home, either carve your pumpkins or paint them! We love the chalk-painted pumpkin look that’s trending right now, but you can use whatever paint you have on hand.
Redecorating your mobile home for fall
It’s amazing what you can do within the limitations of a budget. Decorating an entire mobile home for the fall season may seem like a big job, but when you are forced to get creative, the time flies by. And yes, as you may have noticed, it’s easy to spend $99 of decor. Time isn’t the only thing that flies by fast. Money does too!
And if you don’t stay within a $99 budget like we did, that’s perfectly fine. We’re not judging. This is just a fun challenge. We hope it has inspired you to redecorate your mobile home frugally and with an open mind.
