Here at EZ Homes, we’re firm believers in seeing that your mobile home is a piece of heaven on earth. It’s your home, your oasis from the day-to-day grind at your 9 to 5.
That’s why we’ve rolled out this series titled “Rest & Relaxation.” There are many ways that rest and relaxation may be cultivated in your mobile home. And it’s important that you do that — for your mind, body, and soul.
As you consider the ideas we have for making your porch a cozy getaway, we trust you’ll be inspired. Inspiration is the first step in any process — including that of creating a cozy space on your mobile home porch.
Cozy up your mobile home porch
Take it or leave it, but we think you’ll find these ideas irresistible toward making your porch a safe place to rest. So kick back. Relax. And let’s see what’s available for making your porch an oasis.
How about a hammock or swing for that porch
Install a dreamy hammock on your mobile home porch (or the backyard if you don’t have space on your porch.) Alternatively, a swing is also a good idea.
But if neither option appeals to you, then think about going for a rocking chair. You may love the relaxation induced by the subtle rocking back and forth of the chair as you read or stargaze.
Cozy, comfy seating is a must
Regardless of your mobile home porch size, cozy seating is a must. Get a cushioned chair, rocking chair or even outdoor loveseat. Cushioned pillows for the outdoors with a beautiful pattern will contribute to your campaign for rest.
Watch out. You may not want to leave the porch after you’ve arranged for the perfect seating.
Go green
Embrace the tranquil vibe that greenery brings on to any scene. Add some plants on a tiered rack. Place some potted plants at the end of each stair step. You’ll be surprised at how therapeutic the presence of plants can be for the aesthetic.
Here’s a trick: get yourself some low maintenance plants to make your aesthetic an easy achievement. You want your porch to be a place of rest, right? It makes sense to keep it low maintenance!
Fairylights or candlelight
Additionally, you would do well to bring lighting into the mix. Add some white “Christmas” lights to your porch and watch it turn into a magical place in the evening. You’ll be impressed at what a peaceful presence the lights are to your time of rest.
Alternatively, candlelight can set a romantic mood. Strategically place a few candlelights on your porch and light them when the evening rolls around. You’re not going to want to miss out on the effect it has on your porch. Beautiful. Magical. Relaxing.
Add a boombox
OK, so a boombox is so 80s. Get yourself a set of smart speakers you can connect to your smartphone. Play some relaxing music or your favorite podcast as you gaze at the evening sky.
With a smart speaker, all you’ll have to do is employ voice commands and your favorite music will start playing. What’s not to love about that? It’s like having your own personal DJ.
Add a table
Whether a coffee table or a small side table, make a table a priority. In the morning, you’ll have a place to set your coffee and reading material. In the evening, you’ll have a place to set your wine.
Prop up your feet
Here’s a bonus idea: include a little stool you can stow away under your chair. It’s perfect for propping up your feet when you’re in the mood. You’ll love the extra pampering a small stool will bring to the porch. When you’re not using it, you can just slide it under a chair or set it aside.
Cozy up and relax. It’s your own little getaway.
It doesn’t take much to create a mood that says rest and relax. Take one item at a time and little by little, your porch will transform into a metaphorical island getaway. As it should be! It’s part of your wonderful mobile home.
More and more people of all economic backgrounds are seeing the mobile home as a worthy home. Having a porch further adds to the appeal of a mobile home.
