The spring season is around the corner once again, and for many homeowners, it’s time to think about some remodeling. If you’ve already updated your mobile home interior, maybe you’re thinking about making some changes to the exterior this spring. After all, the outside of your home should look just as good as the inside!

Some ways to get your home exterior ready for spring

A few common ways to work on your mobile home exterior include:

  • Landscaping around the front of your home
  • Replacing your skirting
  • A new look for your front yard
  • Updates and decor for your front porch/steps
  • A good spring cleaning
  • A new garden
  • New decor
  • A fresh coat of paint

Do a little landscaping around your skirting

Whether your skirting is less attractive than you’d like or you’re just ready to dress up your home for spring, a little landscaping might be in order this year. Depending on the style of your mobile home, there are plenty of different directions you can take this project. Flowers or bushes, a patio with a small pond – the possibilities are endless.

Replace the skirting altogether

Of course, if your skirting is old or outdated, you don’t have to settle for hiding it. You can always replace it with modernized skirting or simply a type of skirting you like better. If this is too expensive or time-consuming, however, landscaping to hide old or damaged skirting is still an option.

Take it a little further and update your front yard

Landscaping doesn’t have to stop at your mobile home skirting. You can take it a step further and update your whole front yard. If you’re looking to go further with your efforts, you should add small trees to your landscaping plan. While trees don’t work quite as well around the front of a mobile home, they’re a welcome addition to nearly any front yard.

Decorating your front porch and stairs

If updating your front yard is a little bit too big of a project, you can always do something with your front porch. Cleaning it up is a great way to start, but why not do even more? You can get your front porch looking fabulous by re-staining it, or even painting it if you’re willing to give that a try. Finally, every porch can always use a few potted plants. Depending on the design of your porch, you might use hanging planters or place your pots on the ground.

Replacing your front porch

Once again, with your current porch or stairs, you don’t have to settle for decoration alone. If you only have stairs and you want a porch, you can take things a step beyond decoration and dig into construction. Install a porch! If the porch you have isn’t up to par, find a new one you like and have it put in! Life is too short not to try new things.

Give your mobile home exterior a thorough cleaning

It’s probably been awhile since you gave the front of your mobile home a good cleaning. Of course, spring is a great time to remedy that problem. A thorough pressure washing is in order if you want your mobile home exterior to really shine! If you’ve never used a pressure washer on your home before, it’s a good idea to look at some helpful tips before you start.

Create a new garden in your front yard

If you like gardening, spring is a good time to start a new garden, or replant your old one. Flowers are always a win, but you can also try herbs or even veggies that are easy to grow. A few common vegetables you might enjoy trying include these:

  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Peppers
  • Summer squash
  • Lettuce
  • Other salad greens

Combine a few of these veggies in your front yard, and you’ll have a colorful and tasty garden to tend to this spring!

Try out some new decor

Maybe you just don’t have enough time to clean, or maybe gardening isn’t your thing. In that case, you can always try out some new decor. Have a creative sign made just for your home, make a season-suitable wreath for your front door, or buy a new rug for the porch. If you want to be a little more personalized with your decor, DIY some decor of your own to get a more unique look.

Give your home a fresh coat of paint

Finally, if you’re willing to commit to a big change, give your mobile home exterior a fresh coat of paint. Beautiful spring colors like light blue, pale yellow, or a neutral shade of off-white are all good options for a fresh coat of paint on your home’s exterior.

Enjoy getting your home ready for spring

Regardless of what you decide to do with your home exterior this spring, you should always take the time to enjoy your seasonal projects. Spring is the best time to be outside in the mild temperatures and gorgeous weather, and you’ll be spending plenty of time outdoors during many of this post’s activities. Maybe you’ll even get your family and friends involved so you can all enjoy the great outdoors together. Either way, your mobile home exterior will get a big facelift this spring season!
